We are pleased to once again invite you to participate in the programs of the Rutgers Institute for High School Teachers. We have scheduled a diversity of interdisciplinary seminars designed to bring together a variety of scholars and university faculty with secondary teachers in social studies, history, English, and languages.
Registration for each one-day seminar is $35. Unfortunately, we have been forced by severe budgetary cuts to raise the fee. We will provide reading materials, convenient parking, a continental breakfast, and lunch. We accept personal checks and school purchase orders. Even if your school is covering the cost for the conference, you should personally send in a copy of the registration form in order to ensure enrollment. We have had problems in the past with teachers submitting the registration form to their schools well in advance of a seminar, and the school sending the form either extremely late or not at all.
If you do not receive confirmation after you have returned the enclosed form, do contact us. We will be available to respond throughout the summer. About 2 weeks prior to the seminar we will send you an information packet with a map and reading materials.
Please consider registering promptly. Although there is no formal deadline for registration, we send out reading materials in advance, so the later that you register the less time you will have to review the materials. Please note that registration is required and that seminars do close, often quite early. To ensure a collegial atmosphere, we also restrict the number of participants in each seminar.
If you have registered and find you are unable to attend, please contact us immediately so that we can admit people on our waiting lists. In order to receive a refund, you must call or email to cancel at least one week prior to the date of the seminar and then submit a written request for the refund.
Feel free to copy the enclosed materials for your colleagues. As well, you can register on-line (although you will still have to mail your payment.)
Once again, on behalf of ourselves and the faculty members who have had the pleasure of working with you, we thank you for making the Institute a success over what is now twenty years of continuous programming. We at Rutgers consider it a privilege to work with you.
Sincerely,
